Typography

Typefaces (fonts) are an important element of a graphic identity. The official font of the UT wordmark is Goudy Old Style. The supporting font is Frutiger.

The supporting font is for department and/or individual contact information, which should always appear beneath the campus, institute or college signature.

Goudy Old Style is a serif font available for purchase in OpenType and TrueType formats. The Frutiger font family is a sans serif typeface available for purchase in OpenType format.

Beyond supporting the signature as outlined here, individual units within the University have flexibility to choose which fonts appear in their communications. Care should be taken when selecting an appropriate font. Readability should be top-of-mind.
