Responsibilities in the area of institutional research and planning include activities related to the collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of appropriate information on a variety of university activities supporting strategic planning, decision-making, accountability and reporting. Our mission is achieved through:

  • Coordinating the collection and submission of various data to comply with reporting requirements of the State of Tennessee and federal agencies.
  • Analyzing and interpreting data for planning activities, policy review and design, management decision-making, and external accountability in support of the President and other senior university administrators, and the Board of Trustees.
  • Publishing the annual Facts and Figures report of system-wide statistics.
  • Serving as the administrator for facilities data that is part of the university’s IRIS System.
  • Supporting the development and preparation of student and facilities data for a system-wide data warehouse with targeted end-user reporting.
