Office of Academic Affairs and Student Success
The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Success serves as staff to the Academic Affairs and Student Life committee of The University of Tennessee Board of Trustees and as such includes oversight of the following:
- Approval of the mission statement for each University campus and institute
- Strategic and long term academic plans
- Proposals for new academic programs and revision of existing academic programs relating to instruction, research and service
- Establishment of new academic organizations such as major campuses, colleges and institutes
- Admission, progression and retention standards and initiatives designed to enhance these standards
- University policies and campus implementation procedures on Academic Freedom, Responsibility and Tenure; and any other faculty policies
- Proposals and policies concerning information technology
- University Rules concerning student conduct, rights and responsibilities required to be promulgated under the Tennessee Uniform Procedures Act as well as implementation of the campus Student Handbooks
- Liaison to Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)
- Liaison to Tennessee P-16 Council
- Liaison to Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC)
- Liaison to Tennessee Diploma Project
- Liaison to Tennessee Board of Education and Department of Education
- Liaison to Southern Regional Education Board (SREB)
- Academic Common Market
