When Sally Horn read the advertisement for an assistant professor in the UT Department of Geography, the job seemed to be a perfect fit with her interest in environmental history.
“In the interview, I felt very wanted,” she recalled. “They made it clear that the department had an interest in my area of expertise.”
In her 25 years with the department, Sally has had the opportunity to work with superb colleagues and be involved in cross-department initiatives. She also has been able to travel to Costa Rica, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic for field research.
Sally and her husband, Roger, have two children, Carolyn and Kevin. Her husband earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from UT and their children were taken care of at UT’s Cumberland Childcare Center.
