President Petersen poses with the University of Tennessee’s 2008 legislative interns while in Nashville

April 22 , 2008
Under the direction of Donna Morgan, the 2008 program includes 17 students representing UT’s Knoxville, Martin and Chattanooga campuses in Nashville during the legislative session. Each student was selected based on academic merit and a demonstrated potential for both professional research and growth.
UT President John Petersen praised the students for their work in Nashville.
“The University of Tennessee’s legislative interns have an important role in both the service they provide to our state legislators and their constituents and in serving as ambassadors for the university at the state capitol,” Petersen said. “This is a uniquely important learning opportunity for them, and we are grateful for the time and effort afforded them by members of the General Assembly. They are among our best and brightest students, and we are proud to have them.”
